Football Recap: Whitesburg Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Whitesburg Christian Academy lost against Geraldine back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 49-24. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 151st).

Although Whitesburg Christian Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Aidan Cook, Henry Nuwayhid, and Greer Lovell.

Jon Beck Wade produced another solid performance rushing for 116 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 78 yards and one touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes for Geraldine. Beck Wade has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Whitesburg Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-1 Fyffe (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 86.6% over those games). As for Geraldine, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitesburg Christian Academy will welcome Asbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Geraldine, they will square off against Fyffe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Red Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.
