Football Game Preview: Maypearl Panthers vs. Grandview Zebras

Maypearl hasn't had much luck against Grandview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will host the Zebras at 7:00 p.m. Maypearl has given up an average of 35.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Maypearl took on Whitney on Friday. The Panthers took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 56-13. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 316th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grandview, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Groesbeck, posting a 62-10 victory. That looming 62-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Zebras yet this season.

Grandview pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points over those games. As for Maypearl, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
