Basketball Recap: Taylor's Crossing Takes a Loss

Taylor's Crossing fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against North Gem on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the North Gem Cowboys by a score of 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Ryver Hayden went supernova for North Gem, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hayden has scored at least a third of North Gem's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Yost, who posted 14 points and eight boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Taylor's Crossing fell to 2-1. As for North Gem, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Taylor's Crossing wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-32 victory against American Heritage on the 12th. As for North Gem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-28 loss against Grace Lutheran on the 12th.
