Preview: Eastern Wayne Warriors vs. Beddingfield Bruins
Eastern Wayne is 6-1 against Beddingfield since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eastern Wayne Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Eastern Wayne scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Spring Creek as Eastern Wayne made off with a 83-57 victory. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Eastern Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tavorus Dunn led the charge by scoring 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dunn has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jquarius Carr, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Beddingfield fought the good fight in their overtime match against North Johnston on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 75-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), Beddingfield still had to take the loss.
The win got Eastern Wayne back to even at 10-10. As for Beddingfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.
