Basketball Recap: A'nyzhon (Bam) Purnell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chattahoochee County over Cairo

Chattahoochee County lost against Cairo back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Syrupmakers by a score of 80-78. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was A'Nyzhon (Bam) Purnell, who posted 19 points. The game was Purnell's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javen Tullis, who earned 17 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Chattahoochee County fell to 2-1.

Chattahoochee County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 98-65 win against Glenwood on the 2nd. As for Cairo, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Thomas County Central at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
