Basketball Recap: Manistique Comes Up Short

Manistique was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by the Ishpeming Hematites 65-27. While losing is never fun, the Emeralds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the Hematites are ranked 83rd).

Manistique's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Ishpeming, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manistique will challenge Newberry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ishpeming, they will square off against Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
