Volleyball Recap: Lucy Beckham Wins High-Profile Match Against Socastee

Lucy Beckham faced Socastee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bengals came out on top against the Braves by a score of 2-0. The victory was nothing new for the Bengals as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lucy Beckham easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17.

Jacob Elliot paced Lucy Beckham's offense, picking up seven kills. Elliot got some help from Adam Rasgo and his 12 assists. Elliot was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Lucy Beckham's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Socastee, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3.

Coincidentally, Lucy Beckham and Socastee will both be playing Carolina Forest the next time they take the court. The Bengals will head out to face the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Braves will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
