Softball Game Preview: Sotomayor Wolves vs. Maywood Academy Nighthawks

After both having extra time off, the Sotomayor Wolves and the Maywood Academy Nighthawks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sotomayor has given up an average of 16.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sotomayor lost 21-2 to Marquez last Friday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Gladiators recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maywood Academy hadn't beaten Torres on the road since April 10, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them last Friday. The Nighthawks were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Toros. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Sotomayor now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Maywood Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-7.
