Baseball Recap: Riceville Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Riceville was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against the South Winneshiek Warriors, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Riceville's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for South Winneshiek, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riceville will venture away from home to challenge BCLUW at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Winneshiek, they will head out on the road to face off against Postville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
