Baseball Game Preview: Potomac School Panthers vs. Saint James Saints

For the second straight game, Potomac School will face off against Saint James. The Panthers will square off against the Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Potomac School is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Potomac School's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Saint James 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Speigel looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Pence, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jake Adamec, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Potomac School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Saint James dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Potomac School, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
