South Allegheny put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Apollo Ridge Vikings. Given the Gladiators' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Vikings are ranked 251st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading South Allegheny to victory were Tyrone Claytor and Hakim Harrell. Claytor rushed for 140 yards and one TD on only five carries, while Harrell rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown. Claytor also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (2.0 for loss). Kymair Brown also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

South Allegheny's run defense was locked in: Apollo Ridge could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Max Jeffcoat for the heroic effort on defense: he. South Allegheny didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 18.7.

South Allegheny's defense also made the game a nightmare for Alex Clawson, racking up eight sacks. Leading the way was Jeffcoat with four.

South Allegheny's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Apollo Ridge, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

South Allegheny wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 64-14 win against Sto-Rox on the 17th. As for Apollo Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 45-34 victory against South Park on the 17th.
