Baseball Recap: Beckville Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Beckville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 14-4 to the Overton Mustangs on Wednesday. The Bearcats have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Braxton Bullock made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Jackson Lambright was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Beckville's loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Overton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season.

While Beckville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
