Softball Game Preview: Executive Education Academy Charter School Raptors vs. Palisades Pirates

Executive Education Academy Charter School hasn't had much luck against Palisades recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Raptors will venture away from home to face off against the Pirates at 11:00 a.m.

Executive Education Academy Charter School lost 18-3 to Panther Valley on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Raptors have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Nathalie Diaz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Palisades made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bangor on Thursday. The Pirates blew past the Slaters 12-5. Considering the Pirates have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Karlye Teman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Jordyn Bonelli was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Fiona Kelleher was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Palisades' record is now 7-3. As for Executive Education Academy Charter School, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Executive Education Academy Charter School suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Palisades in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
