Softball Preview: West Florence Knights vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs        
        
		
            
 The West Florence Knights will head out on the road to  square off against  the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. West Florence's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9  runs per game  this season, so North Myrtle Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
 Last Friday, West Florence faced South Florence in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Florence walked away with  an   8-4  win over South Florence. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for West Florence.
  Annie Ruth Eliason made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off only  two  hits. Eliason has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Eliason was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Taryn Weatherford and  Charisma Williams did most of the damage at the plate:  Weatherford  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double, while  Williams  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Mia Boykin, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, North Myrtle Beach put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wilson with a sharp  13-5 victory.
 Like West Florence, North Myrtle Beach also got a great game from a two-way player:  Nealy Lockner. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). Lockner was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Sadie Olson was  incredible,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-5.  Kiera Olson was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
 West Florence has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season. As for North Myrtle Beach, their record now sits at 6-8.
 West Florence took their  win against North Myrtle Beach  in their previous matchup  on March 12th by a conclusive  7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Florence since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
