Basketball Recap: Lake Norman Extends Home Winning Streak to 17

Lake Norman won against Cox Mill last Tuesday with 83 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Lake Norman Wildcats really took it to the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls for the full four quarters, racking up an 83-47 win. The Wildcats have beaten the Ragin' Bulls the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Ragin' Bulls has come to flipping the script.

Lake Norman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Arnold, who posted 22 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Arnold has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trent Steinour, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards.

Lake Norman pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Hickory Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.

As for Hickory Ridge, they will head out to face off against Chambers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chambers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hickory Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
