Softball Recap: Ocoee Comes Up Short

If Ocoee was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Lake Buena Vista last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Apopka Blue Darters on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Darters this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Akya Feacher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Ocoee's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Apopka, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Ocoee is taking a road trip to square off against St. Cloud at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Apopka, they will be playing at home against Lake Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vipers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.18 runs per game on average), something the Blue Darters will no doubt try to take advantage of.
