Softball Recap: Goodland Takes a Loss

Goodland was the 8-4 winner over Hugoton when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday.

Alessa Rickard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Elly Evert was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Goodland's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hugoton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodland will head out to square off against Garden City at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hugoton, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Colby at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
