Baseball Recap: Pen Argyl Victorious

Pen Argyl lost to Notre Dame-Green Pond two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Green Knights came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Knights.

Cayden Vishnesky was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pen Argyl's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-11 when he doesn't).

Vishnesky wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Rutt, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Pen Argyl's record now sits at 8-11. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-7.
