Football Game Preview: Lincoln Prep Lightning vs. Arete Prep CHARGERS

Lincoln Prep is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing at home against the Arete Prep CHARGERS at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Lincoln Prep's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Catalina, posting a 38-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lightning.

Lincoln Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Morris led the charge by rushing for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Morris also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles. Another pass catcher making a difference was Connor Mewhinney, who picked up 106 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arete Prep). They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over ALA - Anthem South. The CHARGERS haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Arete Prep's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lincoln Prep, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-3.

Lincoln Prep took a serious blow against Arete Prep in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, falling 60-6. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lightning were down 52-6.
