Softball Recap: Carterville Lions vs. Belleville East Lancers

Carterville can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They never let the Belleville East Lancers onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. Carterville is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.

Kennedy Rushing was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Amayah Doyle, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Carterville pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs per game. As for Belleville East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Carterville will head out on the road to challenge Herrin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Belleville East, they have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome O'Fallon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Belleville East is facing O'Fallon at the right time seeing as O'Fallon is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
