Baseball Recap: Norwood Has No Trouble Against Bellingham

After only two runs in their last matchup, Norwood made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bellingham on Monday. The Mustangs blew past the Blackhawks 11-1. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024 (when they won 12-2).

Vinny Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Norwood let Brian Dearborn and Sam Larkee run wild. Dearborn went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Larkee went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Dearborn has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Grenham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Norwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Norwood's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Bellingham, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
