Volleyball Recap: Ketcham Comes Up Short

If Ketcham was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fox Lane on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Storm fell just short of the Suffern Mounties by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Storm were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mounties earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ketcham sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-8.

Despite the loss, Ketcham still got an impressive performance from Isabella Asuncion, who had 36 digs and two aces. Asuncion has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times she's played. Charlotte Harris was another key player, getting 15 digs.

Ketcham has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Suffern, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7.

Ketcham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Haldane on the 23rd. Suffern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
