Stratford proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Memorial Mustangs 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted against the Mustangs since April 13, 2021.

Gwyn Katterhenry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Allison Hibbetts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Alessia Avalos was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Stratford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Stratford is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Memorial, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-4 record.

As of now, neither Stratford nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
