Baseball Recap: Haleyville Beats Madison County for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Haleyville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Madison County Tigers on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Jadyn Marbutt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Will McCullar was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last seven contests. Another player making a difference was Eli Cagle, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Haleyville's win bumped their record up to 27-9. As for Madison County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 16 games and leaves them with a 23-3 record.

As of now, neither Haleyville nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
