Football Game Preview: South Windsor Bobcats vs. Avon Falcons

The South Windsor Bobcats will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Avon Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Thursday, South Windsor lost to Windsor on the road by a 41-26 margin. The Bobcats have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, South Windsor got top-tier performance from Ryan Faux, who rushed for 120 yards and two TDs on only nine carries, and also picked up 92 receiving yards and one score. Faux really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Jalil Montgomery was another key rusher, rushing for 108 yards on only 14 carries.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Avon's offense. They had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of Wethersfield.

South Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Everything went South Windsor's way against Avon when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as South Windsor made off with a 22-0 win. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
