Basketball Game Preview: Giles Spartans vs. Fort Chiswell Pioneers

Giles is 2-8 against Fort Chiswell since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Giles Spartans will square off against the Fort Chiswell Pioneers at 7:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Giles is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Monday. They fell 46-36 to Grayson County. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Spartans couldn't quite close it out.

Fort Chiswell has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 68-56 to George Wythe, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Giles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Fort Chiswell, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Giles lost to Fort Chiswell on the road by a decisive 69-55 margin when the teams last played last Friday. Can Giles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
