Basketball Recap: Muncie Burris Comes Up Short

Muncie Burris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Delta Eagles, falling 84-35. The Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-17.

Despite the loss, Muncie Burris still got an impressive performance from Sydney Jackson, who went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Jackson has posted since back in November of 2023.

Griffyn Knight continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Delta, putting up 30 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Knight is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Barr, who posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and eight steals.

Muncie Burris' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Delta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Muncie Burris will challenge University at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. As for Delta, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-48 defeat against Pendleton Heights on the 12th.
