Softball Recap: Granville Central Panthers vs. J.F. Webb Warriors
Granville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the J.F. Webb Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Granville Central of the 14-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Tuesday.
Granville Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Reeves, who went 2-for-1 with an RBI.
Even though they lost, Granville Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.F. Webb only posted an OBP of .621.
On J.F. Webb's side, Terrie Thornton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Granville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for J.F. Webb, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-9.
