Volleyball Recap: Mulberry Beats Lakeland for Their Third Straight Victory

Mulberry entered their tilt with Lakeland on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Dreadnaughts by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-21, 16-25, 25-17, 28-26.

Mateus Cusmanich paced Mulberry's offense, picking up 18 kills. Cusmanich got some help from Jayden Williams and his 35 assists. Williams was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Mulberry's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lakeland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mulberry will venture away from home to face off against Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeland, they will head out to square off against Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
