After a string of five wins, Hononegah's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockridge Rockets. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Kaelyn Kelly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Addison Hulburt, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Hononegah's loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Rockridge, their record is now 23-5-1.

Hononegah didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-0 victory against Biggsville West Central on the 17th. As for Rockridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-2 win against Cuba/Spoon River Valley on the 22nd.
