Soccer Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short

If Aquinas was riding high fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Howard last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats who were credited with the win on Monday. The Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Aquinas Fightin' Irish's two. If the Fightin' Irish were looking for revenge after losing 9-3 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Elle Morris and Elizabeth Elliott scored both of Aquinas' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Aquinas will square off against Baldwin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, they will challenge Gatewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
