Basketball Recap: Southeast Bulloch Comes Up Short

Southeast Bulloch lost against Portal back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets lost to the Portal Panthers at home by a 44-27 margin. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brian Mcqueen was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points along with seven boards and four steals for Portal. Kj Hunter was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Southeast Bulloch has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Portal, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Southeast Bulloch will square off against Screven County at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Portal, they will face off against Jenkins County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Jenkins County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
