Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask NSU University). They were the clear victor by a 20-2 margin over the South Plantation Paladins on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Devin Mila was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mila was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Aidan Jacobs looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
Back at the plate, Bradyn Potter was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Georgiou, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
NSU University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Plantation only posted a batting average of .118.
The win made it two in a row for NSU University and bumps their season record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for South Plantation, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NSU University will face off against Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Plantation, they will welcome McArthur at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
