Softball Recap: Allegheny-Clarion Valley Takes a Loss

If Allegheny-Clarion Valley was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of East Forest last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell 8-3 to the Clarion-Limestone Lions on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Emerson Stevens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Kya Wetzel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Dehart, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Allegheny-Clarion Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Clarion-Limestone, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

As of now, neither Allegheny-Clarion Valley nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
