Basketball Game Preview: Armstrong Wildcats vs. Highland Springs Springers

Armstrong hasn't had much luck against Highland Springs recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Armstrong Wildcats will challenge the Highland Springs Springers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Armstrong ended up a good deal behind Henrico and lost 67-50. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Warriors are ranked 121st).

Meanwhile, Highland Springs lost to Varina at home by a 73-55 margin on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Springers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now lost six in a row.

Armstrong's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Highland Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Armstrong was dealt a bruising 71-34 defeat at the hands of Highland Springs in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Armstrong avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
