Basketball Game Preview: Johnson County Longhorns vs. University School Buccaneers

The Johnson County Longhorns will head out to take on the University School Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Johnson County was fully in charge, breezing past Non Varsity Opponent 76-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

Meanwhile, University School scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Hampton, falling 92-68. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buccaneers have suffered against the Bulldogs since January 11, 2022.

University School's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Johnson County, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-12.

Johnson County was dealt a bruising 75-46 loss at the hands of University School in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Johnson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
