Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lincoln College Prep

Lincoln College Prep barely beat Van Horn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Tigers blew past the Falcons 11-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Tigers, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Van Horn's batters probably weren't too happy with Will Wright, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (he gave up zero walks). Wright has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Steven Clark was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The victory (which was Lincoln College Prep's third in a row) raised their record to 14-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Van Horn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln College Prep will take on Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Van Horn, they will square off against Pembroke Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
