Basketball Game Preview: Banning Lewis Academy Stallions vs. Manual Thunderbolts

Two dominant guards in Matthew Lebron and Zubayr Carpenter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions will square off against the Manual Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Manual will be up against a hot Banning Lewis Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Banning Lewis Academy came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 71-66 W against The Vanguard School.

Banning Lewis Academy can attribute much of their success to Jordan Jones, who almost dropped a triple-double with 21 points, 17 rebounds, and nine assists, and Lebron, who went 10-for-22 to rack up 25 points and three steals. The contest was Lebron's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Duboue, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Manual beat DSST: Cedar 57-53 on Tuesday.

Manual's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Banning Lewis Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.
