Volleyball Recap: CSTHEA's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of six wins, CSTHEA's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Lincoln County Falcons by a score of 2-1. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Falcons when the teams met back in September of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

CSTHEA's offense was headlined by Lydia Tallent and Emmi Black, who picked up five kills apiece. Black really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 13. Brinkley Hoewischer and Rosie Fincher kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Lincoln County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Cunningham led the charge by getting three digs and three aces. Lucy Summers was another key player, getting 15 assists.

CSTHEA's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Lincoln County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

CSTHEA didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against East Hamilton on the 30th. Lincoln County has also already played their next contest (against Shelbyville Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
