Softball Recap: Riverside University/Meir Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Riverside University/Meir's offense. They came up short against the Shoreland Lutheran Pacers on Friday, falling 20-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, Riverside University/Meir's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Riverside University/Meir saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Alvarado, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Alvarado is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Riverside University/Meir now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Shoreland Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Riverside University/Meir will take on Madison La Follette in a tournament on Saturday. As for Shoreland Lutheran, they will host Lake Country Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
