Softball Recap: Maxwell Comes Up Short

Maxwell and Loyalton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Maxwell had to settle for second. They came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 17-2. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Maxwell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruby Herrera, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Maxwell's loss dropped their record down to 9-17-1. As for Loyalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Maxwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loyalton, they will head out to face off against Etna at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
