Basketball Game Preview: Sand Creek Scorpions vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

The Sand Creek Scorpions will face off against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sand Creek will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Sand Creek's tournament run continued when they took on Pueblo South on Saturday. Sand Creek secured a 44-40 W over Pueblo South.

It was another big night for Mathew Starks, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Brotherns, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost to Mesa Ridge at home by a 81-67 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (57), the Wolves still had to take the loss.

Sand Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Vista Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Sand Creek came up short against Vista Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 52-45. Can Sand Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
