Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Chewelah). They were the clear victors by  a  30-4 margin over the Davenport Gorillas on Friday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Gorillas recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.
 Patrick McGuire made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. McGuire was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ryen McMillan, who  went 5-for-6 with five  RBI, three  runs,  and one  double.  Miles Krausz also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Chewelah  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .698. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an  OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive  matchups.
Chewelah pushed their record up to 5-0 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Davenport,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
 Looking ahead, Chewelah will challenge Liberty Bell at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Mountain Lions will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Davenport, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Newport at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 15th.
