Cottonwood has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will head out to square off against the Geneva County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Geneva County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cottonwood, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Cottonwood narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Abbeville 3-2.
Cottonwood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first firsttwo sets, they turned around to win the next four. The final score came out to 23-25, 17-25, 27-25, 25-12, 15-12.
Cottonwood was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Geneva County came up short against Samson on Tuesday and fell 3-1.
