Basketball Game Preview: Fall River Pirates vs. Markesan Hornets

The Fall River Pirates will square off against the Markesan Hornets at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fall River is coming into the matchup on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They secured a 50-45 W over Columbus on Monday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Markesan). They breezed by North Fond du Lac to the tune of 72-34 on Monday. While the Hornets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Fall River's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Markesan, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Fall River strolled past Markesan in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 77-59. Will Fall River repeat their success, or does Markesan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
