Basketball Game Preview: Patterson Mill vs. Aberdeen Eagles

After both having extra time off, Patterson Mill and the Aberdeen Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Patterson Mill is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Urbana just ended the team's four-game winning streak two weeks ago. The contest between them and the Hawks didn't end well, with Patterson Mill falling 53-38. The loss was Patterson Mill's first of the season.

Despite the loss, Patterson Mill had strong showings from Rylie Madsen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, and Zoe Valan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. That was a full 50% of Patterson Mill's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 43-27 to Reservoir. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Patterson Mill fell to 4-1. As for Aberdeen, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Patterson Mill against Aberdeen in their previous meeting back in February, as the team secured a 47-18 win. Will Patterson Mill repeat their success, or does Aberdeen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
