After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Homewood, Jackson-Olin was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Woodlawn Colonels. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Colonels: they've now won six in a row.

Jaylen Washington was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Dowdell, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Jackson-Olin's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Woodlawn, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson-Olin will challenge Shades Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodlawn, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Parker at 12:00 p.m. The Colonels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thundering Herd have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
