MaxPreps 2013 Preseason All-American Softball Team

21 states are represented on the list, and California leads the way.

California leads the MaxPreps Preseason All-American Softball Team with 13 players, while Texas has five and Alabama four.

In all, 21 states are represented on the 50-player team. Virginia, Illinois and Louisiana each had three players named.

One team, Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), had two players named Preseason All-American: pitcher Tori Finucane (first team) and catcher Jillian Ferraro (second team).

The team features 34 seniors,15 juniors and one sophomore — catcher Maddie McCracken of North (Olathe, Kan.). She has committed to Notre Dame.

First Team

P - Johanna Grauer, Amador Valley (Pleasanton, Calif.), Junior
Grauer was a MaxPreps All-American and Contra Costa Times All-East Bay Player of the Year in 2012 and has committed to Arizona State.
Stats: 26-1 record, 15 shutouts, 0.33 ERA, 328 strikeouts, 171 IP, .356 batting average.

P - Casey Stangel, Lake City (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho), Senior
The MaxPreps All-American is a two-time Idaho Gatorade State Player of the Year. She has signed with Missouri.
Stats: 22-2 record, 0.37 ERA, 218 strikeouts in 132.1 innings pitched, .558 batting average, 11 home runs, 59 RBIs and 1.250 slugging pct.

P - Kelsee Selman, Hudson (Lufkin, Texas), Senior
Named a MaxPreps All-American and to the Texas Girls Softball Coaches Association All-State Team and State Tournament MVP, Selman has committed to LSU. 
Stats: 36-3 record, 0.62 ERA, 246.2 innings pitched, 446 strikeouts, 41 walks, .361 batting average, 12 doubles, 38 RBIs.

P - Tori Finucane, Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), Senior
The MaxPreps All-American, Gatorade State Player of the Year and Washington Post All-Met Team member has committed to Missouri. 
Stats: 27-1 record, 0.09 ERA, 332 strikeouts, 161 IP, 22 BB, .363 batting average and 25 RBIs.

P - Madi Schreyer, Woodinville (Wash.), Senior
The MaxPreps All-American and Gatorade State Player of the Year was also the Seattle Times All-Area Player of the Year. She has committed to Stanford.
Stats: 21-0 record, 0.28 ERA, 189 strikeouts, 123 innings pitched, 33 walks.



P - Samantha Martin, Chiles (Tallahassee, Fla.), Senior
Martin was MaxPreps All-American, Tallahassee Big Bend Player of the Year and Florida Dairy Farmers Class 7A State Player of the Year. She will play at College of Charleston.
Stats: 19-1 record, 190 strikeouts, 0.96 ERA. 

P - Shannon Smith, Milford (Mass.), Senior
The Gatorade State Player of Year, Smith is Kentucky bound. 
Stats: 359 batters in 169 innings with a 0.08 ERA. In all, she had nine no-hitters, five perfect games and seven one-hit games. Batted .460, seven homers, .905 slugging pct.

C - Riley Fira, Ennis (Texas), Senior
Fira was a MaxPreps All-American, on the Dallas Morning News All-Area Team and a Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Team pick. She has committed to UT-Arlington.
Stats: .482 batting average, 50 runs, 70 RBIs, and 15 home runs.

C - Sahvanna Jaquish, Redlands East Valley (Calif.), Senior
A Maxpreps All-American, Southern Section All-Division I selection and Citrus Belt League MVP, Jaquish has committed to LSU. 
Stats: .565 batting average, 36 runs, 24 RBIs, 10 doubles, seven triples, three home runs.

C - Maddie McCracken, North (Olathe, Kan.), Sophomore
A Kansas Coaches Association Class 6A All-State Team selection and NFCA Academic All-American, McCracken has committed to Notre Dame.

INF - Heather Bowen, Centennial (Las Vegas), Junior 
Gatorade State Player of the Year and Class 4A All-State Team as a sophomore.
Stats: .480 batting average, 54 RBIs, 18 doubles, 60 runs, 16 home runs.

INF - Kylie Howard, John Marshall (Glen Dale, W. Va.), Senior
Gatorade State Player of the Year. Howard led team to 35-4 and state title AAA class.
Stats: .475 BA, 52 runs, five homers, 15 doubles, eight triples, 55 RBIs. She is a three-time first team all-state player.



INF - Meredith Burroughs, C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, N.C.), Junior 
As a sophomore, she was was the District 2-3A Player of the Year and a member of the North Carolina Coaches Association All-State Team.
Stats: .545 batting average, 19 home runs, 48 RBIs, six doubles, 48 runs.

INF - Kasey Cooper, Dothan (Ala.), Senior
Cooper was first team Alabama All-Super State Team and Alabama Class 6A State Player of the Year. She has signed with Auburn.
Stats: .599 average, 19 home runs, 58 RBIs, 72 runs, 32 doubles, 34 stolen bases, 28-11 record, 0.99 ERA, 344 strikeouts, 233.1 innings pitched, 16 shutouts, five no-hitters.

INF - Taurie Pogue, Mountain View (Meridian, Idaho), Junior 
As a sophomore, the All-State Pogue led the Mavericks to a third-place finish at state. She has committed to Cal.
Stats: .551 batting average, 18 doubles, 12 home runs, 39 RBIs.

INF - Marisa Runyon, Carolina Forest (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), Senior
Runyon was named The Toast of the Coast Softball Player of the Year by The Sun News. She has signed with Alabama. 
Stats: .556 batting average, 40 RBIs, 30 runs and .975 slugging pct.

INF - Gabrielle Maurice, Johansen (Modesto, Calif.), Senior
Named Modesto Bee Player of Year, Maurice has signed with UCLA. 
Stats: 18 stolen bases, 27 RBIs, 10 doubles, four triples, nine home runs, batted .614 and scored 36 runs.

OF - Maeve McGuire, Benet Academy (Lisle, Ill.), Senior 
McGuire was the Chicago Sun Times All-Area MVP and has committed to Georgia. 
Stats: .528 batting average, 65 hits, 59 runs, 24 doubles, 16 HR, 48 RBIs.

OF - Jazmyn Jackson, Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.), Junior 
As a sophomore, Jackson was San Jose Mercury News All-Area First Team and West Catholic Athletic League MVP.  She has committed to Cal.
Stats: .551 batting average, 37 runs, 31 RBIs, 11 doubles, five triples, three home runs.



OF - Nicole Pendley, Rio Rancho (N.M.), Junior 
As a sophomore, Pendley was first team New Mexico Class 5A All-State Team. She has committed to Arizona.
Stats: .568 batting average, eight doubles, 11 triples, nine home runs, 34 RBIs, 42 stolen bases.

OF - Hannah Cookson, Crescenta Valley (La Crescenta, Calif.), Junior
The Southern Section All-Division III Team member has committed to Long Beach State.
Stats: .731 batting average, 53 RBIs, five doubles, five triples, 16 home runs.

UTIL - Baylee Corbello, Sam Houston (Lake Charles, La.), Senior
The state's Gatorade Player of the Year and Class 5A Player of the Year, Corbello has committed to UL Lafayette.
Stats: 23-4 record, 337 strikeouts, 179 IP, 0.86 ERA, .496 batting average, 39 RBIs, three home runs.

UTIL - Carly Hoover, Daniel (Central, S.C.), Senior
Hoover was the Gatorade State Player of the Year and AAA Pitcher of the Year. She was also a MaxPreps Volleyball All-American and has committed to Stanford for softball.
Stats: 16-4 record, 138.2 innings pitched, 0.50 ERA, 296 strikeouts, .475 batting average, seven home runs, 34 runs, 59 walks.

UTIL - Allison Stewart, Olathe East (Kan.), Junior
Kansas Coaches Association Class 6A All-State Team and state Gatorade Player of the Year. Stewart has committed to the University of Arkansas.
Stats: 13-0 record, 0.20 ERA, 118 strikeouts, 69.1 innings pitched, .532 batting average, 52 RBIs, five home runs. 

UTIL - Kenedy Urbany, O'Connor (Helotes, Texas), Senior
San Antonio News Express Player of the Year and a Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State selection, Urbany has committed to Stephen F. Austin.
Stats: 30-3, 0.90 ERA, 259 strikeouts, 210 innings pitched, .477 batting average, four triples, four home runs, 15 doubles, 60 RBIs.

P - Delanie Gourley, El Capitan (Lakeside, Calif.), Senior
A MaxPreps All-American and San Diego Section MVP, Gourley has committed to Florida. She is chasing the San Diego Section record of 1,106 strikeouts (345 as junior, 335 as sophomore and 323 as freshman). She has eight no-hitters through her high school career.
Stats: 345 strikeouts (156 innings), 18-5 record and a 0.58 ERA. She also batted .534 with 24 RBIs.

MaxPreps All-American and Oregon Gatorade winner, Becker has signed with Louisville.
Stats:  26-0, 0.43 ERA , 313 strikeouts (178 IP), three no-hitters, .475 batting average with seven home runs, 15 doubles, 47 RBIs and a .832 slugging percentage. 

P-  Jess Cummings, Northern (Owings, Md.), Junior 
Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year as a sophomore and MaxPreps Underclass All-American. 
Stats: 20-0 record, 0.38 ERA, 260 strikeouts, 128 innings.

P - Steph Thomas, Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), Junior
New Jersey All-State Team and Gatorade State Player of the Year Winner, Thomas has committed to UL Lafayette.
Stats: 27-0 record, 200 strikeouts, 0.40 ERA, 18 shutouts.

P - Katie Brignac, Curtis (River Ridge, La.), Junior
Brignac was chosen Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 2A Player of the Year and Times Picayune All-Metro Small Schools Player of the Year.
Stats: 25-0, 220 strikeouts, 15 shutouts, 0.37 ERA.

P - Taylor West, Saks (Anniston, Ala.), Senior 
West was the Alabama Class 3A Player of the Year and a MaxPreps Small Schools All-American. She pitched a perfect game in the state finals.
Stats: 35-10 record, 17 shutouts, eight no-hitters, 508 strikeouts, .378 batting average, 10 home runs.



P - Cara Goodwin, Good Hope (Cullman, Ala.), Senior
The 2012 Gatorade State Player of Year winner, Goodwin has signed with the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Stats: 43-6 record, 525 strikeouts, 19 shutouts, 0.86 ERA, 318.2 innings pitched.

P - Allyson Frei, High Point (Sussex, N.J.), Junior
Frei had a perfect season and was named to the New Jersey All-State Team.
Stats: 26-0 record, 362 strikeouts, 20 walks, 179 innings pitched.

C - Jillian Ferraro, Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), Senior
Ferraro was named to the Washington Post All-Met Team and has signed with UNC.
Stats: .542 batting average, 55 RBIs, eight home runs.

C - Kaylea Snaer, Rowland (Rowland Heights, Calif.), Senior
Snaer, a Southern Section All-Division II Team and San Gabriel Valley Tribune All-Area Team member, has signed with the University of South Carolina.
Stats: .536 batting average, 36 RBIs, 16 home runs.

An Orange County Register All-County Team and Southern Section All-Division IV Team selection, Peres has committed to San Diego State.
Stats: .517 batting average, 11 home runs, 39 RBIs and seven doubles.

INF - Taylor Odom, Goreville (Ill.), Senior  
Named to the Illinois Coaches Association Class 1A All-State Team, Odom will attend Murray State.  
Stats: .590 batting average, 60 runs, 24 home runs, 72 RBIs.

INF - Bella Picard, Blackstone Valley RVT (Upton, Mass.), Senior 
The St. Joseph's signee struck out only once in 2012.
Stats: Nation-leading .855 average (69-for-77), .860 on base percentage and a 1.710 slugging percentage,13 doubles, eight triples and 10 homers. Scored 46 runs, 43 RBIs.



INF - Nicole DeWitt, Pacifica (Garden Grove, Calif.), Junior 
DeWitt, who has committed to Florida, was first team Orange County Register All-County and Southern Section All-Division I team.
Stats: .488 batting average, nine doubles, eight home runs, 41 runs, 24 RBIs.

INF - Kelli Schkade, Albany (Texas), Senior 
The Abilene All-Area Player of the Year and Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Team selection has signed with Missouri. 
Stats: .620 batting average, 18 doubles, 10 triples, 10 home runs, 72 runs, 52 RBIs.

INF - Abby Ramirez, Trinity (River Forest, Ill.), Senior
Ramirez was named to the Chicago Tribune All-State Team and Illinois Coaches Association Class 4A All-State Team. She has signed with Michigan.
Stats: .555 batting average, 13 doubles, seven triples, seven home runs, 39 RBIs, 62 runs, 41 stolen bases. 

INF - Delaney Spaulding, Etiwanda (Calif.), Senior
Spaulding, who has signed with UCLA, was a first team All-Baseline League, All-Valley and All-State selection.
Stats: .490 with 13 home runs, 49 RBIs, eight doubles and 33 runs scored.

OF - Annie AldreteSanta Catalina (Monterey, Calif.), Senior
The Monterey Herald All-County Player of the Year has signed with Tennessee.
Stats: .544 average, 40 runs, 48 RBIs, 12 doubles and eight home runs.

OF -  Bailey Landry, East Ascension (Gonzales, La.), Senior
An All-State honoree, Landry has signed with LSU.
Stats: .485 with six homers and 30 RBIs, .762 slugging percentage, scored 38 runs and stole 33 bases. 



OF - Ashley Cole, Woodgrove (Purcellville, Va.), Senior 
Cole was a Washington Post All-Met Team selection and has signed with Lehigh. 
Stats: .512 batting average, 38 RBIs, 36 runs and 43 stolen bases.

OF - Haley Harrison, Deer Park (Texas), Junior 

As a sophomore, Harrison made the All-Greater Houston first team and Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Team.
Stats: .462 batting average, 41 runs, 32 RBIs, five doubles, six triples and two home runs.

OF - Jade Vecvanags, Orange Lutheran (Calif.), Senior

The Orange County Register All-County Team and Southern Section All-Division I selection has signed with Illinois.
Stats: .407 batting average, 10 home runs, five doubles, 25 runs, 26 RBIs, 16-1 record, 0.86 ERA, 155 strikeouts (114 innings). 

UTIL - Abby Klopp, Baldwin-Woodville (Baldwin, Wis.), Junior
Klopp was the Wisconsin Coaches Association's Division II Player of the Year.
Stats: .588 batting average, 42 runs, 39 RBIs, 14 doubles, four home runs, 27-1 record, 281 strikeouts, 18 shutouts, 0.74 ERA, 179.1 innings pitched.

UTIL - Lindsay Mayer, Lincoln (R.I.), Senior
Mayer, the Gatorade State Player of the Year, will attend Virginia. 
Stats: 19-0 record, 0.67 ERA with 163 strikeouts in 104 innings pitched. She batted .467 with three home runs, 23 runs, 24 RBIs, a .657 on-base percentage and a .911 slugging percentage.

UTIL - Sierra Hyland, El Diamante (Visalia, Calif.), Senior
Hyland, who was the Fresno Bee Player of the Year, has signed with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Stats: 30-2 record, 312 strikeouts, 14 shutouts, 1.02 ERA, 200 innings pitched, .468 batting average, 36 RBIs, 34 runs, 14 doubles, three triples, eight home runs. 

UTIL - Janna Korak - Sparkman (Harvest, Ala.), Senior

The all-state pitcher has signed with Marist after leading the Lady Senators to 6A title and 64-7 record. She was named MVP of the state tournament.
Stats: 99 RBIs, 11 home runs and 43 pitching wins.
