Football Recap: Kahuku Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop Gorman

Kahuku is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bishop Gorman. The Red Raiders were dealt a 38-0 defeat at the hands of the Gaels. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Red Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Gorman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maika Eugenio, who threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.1% of his passes. Those 352 passing yards gave Eugenio a new career-high. Another receiver making a difference was Kaina Watson, who picked up 121 receiving yards and one score.

Kahuku's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bishop Gorman, the victory was the 11th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Kahuku wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-18 defeat against Mater Dei on the 5th. As for Bishop Gorman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 35-14 win against Lone Peak on the 5th.
