Football Recap: Kahuku Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop Gorman

Kahuku is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bishop Gorman. The Red Raiders were outmatched by the Gaels and fell 38-0. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Red Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bishop Gorman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maika Eugenio, who threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.1% of his passes. Eugenio has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Trent Walker did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.

Kahuku's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bishop Gorman, the win (which was their 11th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Coming up, Kahuku will head out on the road to challenge Mater Dei at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will be playing at home against Lone Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 876 yards in their previous games.
