Football Recap: Berlin Piles Up the Points Against Mauston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berlin). They blew past the Mauston Golden Eagles 53-6 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 327th).

The victory (which was Berlin's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Mauston, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Berlin will square off against rival Ripon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mauston is set to face off against their familiar foe Adams-Friendship at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
